Meet Your Educator
Amy J. Taphouse
Founder & Lead Educator, TAP Clinical Education
Welcome to TAP Clinical Education. Thank you for choosing to invest in your professional development. My goal is to provide education that is practical, evidence-based and directly relevant to the personal services industry, helping practitioners build confidence, improve decision-making and promote safer practice.
With over 20 years of NHS experience, I have worked across hospital services, primary care and emergency pre-hospital care, developing extensive clinical knowledge and practical experience in recognising, assessing and responding to a wide range of medical conditions and emergencies.
Alongside my healthcare career, I am also the proprietor of a successful tattoo studio, where I have mentored aspiring tattoo artists and supported experienced practitioners to develop safe, ethical and professional working practices. Having worked within both healthcare and the tattoo industry, I understand the unique challenges faced by personal service professionals and the importance of recognising when a client may be becoming unwell.
It was this combination of clinical experience, education and industry knowledge that inspired me to establish TAP Clinical Education. I recognised that while personal service professionals receive excellent training in technical skills, there is often limited education on recognising medical emergencies, understanding clinical risk and responding confidently when a client becomes unwell.
"Every course has been designed to support practitioners in developing the knowledge, awareness and confidence to provide safer services while working within their own scope of practice."
Whether you are a tattoo artist, micropigmentation specialist, invasive treatment practitioner, beauty professional, salon professional or aesthetics practitioner, my aim is to provide learning that is practical, engaging and immediately applicable to your everyday work.
